  According to Section 504 of the Indian Penal Code, if any person intentionally insults and thereby incites a person, intending or knowing that such incitement may cause him to disturb the public peace or commit any other offence, he shall be punished under Section 506 IPC.  The term of punishment may extend to 2 years with imprisonment of any description or with fine or with both. ‌ What is Section 504 ??  As defined in Section 504 IPC Code;  If any person intentionally provokes any person by insult, intending or knowing that such provocation may cause such person to commit a breach of the public peace or commit any other offence.   Section 511 IPC 1860 Which section of IPC deals with attempt other than mentioned in the code as punishable offense? It is dealt by Section 511 of IPC which is the only section of chapter 23 and is the last section of Indian penal code 1860.   To know "Attempt Of the offence " It is Important to know the four stages of crime or commission of offence .
